Public level guide

Third Level readiness Primary maths

Third Level readiness provides a supported bridge into more formal numeracy through negative numbers, percentages, ratio, timetables, money, scale, graphs and calculator skills.

It is a practice pathway for transition and review, not a gatekeeping assessment or a formal CfE level judgement.

What is available

10 focused practice areas, including Negative numbers, Percentages basics, Ratio basics, Reading timetables, Money calculations, Scale and measure, Graphs and data, Calculator skills, Problem-solving readiness, and National 3 Applications readiness.

How Concept Journeys work

Pupils explore, notice, build, explain and check an idea in small connected stages before moving into practice.

Visual learning and progression

Clear models, short instructions and structured practice help pupils connect representations and revisit ideas at a suitable pace.
